Wood Furniture and Being an American Legend

The living room – that is to say, your den – is the center of entertainment and fun in your home, and also your retreat from the world. It’s where you relax after a long day’s work, where you find solitude after a night out or an evening party or a morning in town. Yet, if your den is full of plastic furniture, poorly-constructed Swedish knockoffs, and generally a bunch of cheap junk, you’ll hardly feel like a person of class and quality while you while away your evenings there.

That’s why you need to invest in solid wood furniture. American-made furniture of the wood variety is always superior to any other kind of furniture. Wood is a traditional, solid, beautiful material that can fit into any environment in the home. Wood, especially Mission furniture-style wood, is especially beautiful in a den, where it can serve as a 72′ plasma TV stand or a coffee table or a bookshelf, all fitting for a quality den.

Moving out of the den, there’s another important room you’ll spend a lot of time in, and that’s your dining room. After all, you need to eat, and if you’re going to eat with class and dignity it won’t be in your den with a television dinner tray or out in a fast food restaurant, it’s going to be in a fine dining room with an oak dining room table. Dining room tables basically make the room: the table is what you eat on, what you sit at, what holds the centerpiece and really holds the entire room together.

Of course, your dining room table should be a good, American-made wood table as well. Wood is great for any kind of furniture outside of a stove, a dishwasher, or a refrigerator. Wood as a floor, for the wall paneling, for the ceiling, for doors and window frames and counters and just about anything you can think of, is a classy and affordable way to make your home long-lasting, classic, and smelling of pine.

You may think this isn’t an affordable way to outfit the interior of your home, but you’d be wildly and laughably wrong. Wood is a widely available material, and there are plenty of craftsmen and furniture retailers that specialize solely in wood furniture. There’s nothing stopping you from making your home an ode to wood furniture, a Valhalla of pine boards and oak tables. Nothing but your own fear of being awesome.
